What we do

Here at St Paul's, Preston, as a church we seek to serve the community in any way we can by visiting the sick, elderly, recently bereaved, housebound and those in need. Also we have a wide range of groups and activities that are open to church and non-church members alike - see Church Hall for more details.  All are welcome.

CHAT-A-BOARD a group of fellowship that meets every Monday afternoon at 2.00pm for a chat, board  games, magazines, tea or coffee and cake, in the Scout Hut.  Everyone Welcome.

CRÈCHE
FACILITIES
are available for the little ones in the church porch during the 10.30a.m. service every Sunday .

FAMILY FELLOWSHIP
is a social evening that meets from October to May, on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30p.m.  The programmes are varied, to include talks, slide evenings and concerts, and ending the season with a day coach outing.  Everyone welcome.  

FRIENDSHIP BREAKFAST
is served on 3rd Sunday in the month after the 8a.m. service. The money raised at the breakfast goes to the Church Missionary Society (C.M.S).

HOMEGROUPS
meet weekly in church members' houses for informal discussion, bible study and prayer.  There are daytime and evening meetings to choose from.  Please speak to a member of the clergy or church wardens if you are interested in coming along.  New members are always welcome.

Church Lecturn


MONDAY GROUP is a ladies group that meets every Monday at 8p.m. A long-established group offering a welcome and support for newcomers.  Very varied programme.

MOTHERS' UNION meet on the 3rd Wednesday in the month at 2.30p.m. in the Frances Norrish Room.  Also they have a coffee morning on the 1st Wednesday in the month after the 10.30a.m. service.

PLAYGROUP & PRE-SCHOOL
meet week day mornings during term time in the Church Hall.

PRAYER MEETING
on a Monday at 8p.m. to pray informally for the work of the church and surrounding community.

SOCIAL EVENINGS
are held from time to time throughout the year where we all get together, have a bring-and-share supper and play skittles and other games.


SPARX
 Come and join one of our groups to have fun, friendship and grow in faith!  Livewires for Pre-school (aged 3) to Year 4.  Transformers for Years 5, 6 and 7.  Fusion for Years 8 to 13.  All are welcome to attend - we meet in Church at 10.30am for the first part of the service before going to our groups. ST PAUL'S CHURCH CHOIR
is a mixed choir which sing at Sunday services, weddings etc. Also they perform
special choral works such as ‘The Crucifixion’.  They practice on a Sunday Morning at 9.45am.

TODDLERS SERVICE
a short informal service (with stories and visual aids) for toddlers and their parents / grandparents / aunts & uncles / friends. We meet on Thursday afternoons at 2.15p.m. Great fun and a chance for parents/guardians to meet over a cup of tea.

TRAIDCRAFT
goods are sold on the 3rd Sunday in the month after the 8 a.m. & 10.30 a.m. services. Traidcraft supports the Fair Trade movement which helps provide fair prices for goods to the producers in the third world.

YOUTHCLUB takes place every Thursday in the Youth Hut and Church Hall during term time.  Young people are welcome from school years 7 upwards.  The group meets from 7.30pm till 9.00pm.  A range of activities and a lot of fun takes place! For more information phone David and Karen on tel. 559261. 

YOUTH ORGANISATIONS
such as Brownies (Tuesdays 6p.m.), Beavers (Tuesdays & Wednesdays 5p.m.), Cub Scouts (Wednesdays 6.30p.m.) and Sea Scouts (Fridays 7.30p.m.) meet in St Paul's Church Hall and the Scout Hut.
